Drool “Maury” & “The Jerry Springer Show” Renewed Through 2014!?

Jerry Springer's daytime talkshow has been renewed for another three years.

The news takes the controversial show through to its landmark 23rd season in 2014. Spinoff series The Steve Wilkos Show - now in its fourth season - has also been renewed for the period.

Meanwhile, Maury - fronted by Maury Povich - has been picked up for an additional three years, taking it through to its 16th season.

Cool

I'd rather watch reality shows on the Weather Network!

Maury Povich has been literally doing the same exact show with almost no variation for at least a decade. I cannot understand the appeal of this; it's just a depressing slog through trailer trash and ignorance.

As for Springer, while I sheepishly admit I used to watch his show as a 'guilty pleasure' it's long since been time for him to depart the stage. He's a smart, sensitive and accomplished man; why he bothers with this nonsense in his late 60's (besides the money, which I'm sure he doesn't need) is beyond me.

I remember the original Maury Povich Show--it was an entertaining and informative talk show....ever since he left Paramount to go to Universal (or is it vice versa?), and started Maury, it's become a who's my baby daddy, you cheated and you lied sleazefest.

If they would ever rerun a Jerry Springer Show from his early years, you wouldn't recognize the program!

This isn't a shock to me at all. People love clinging to trash TV and these two have always been quite popular.
