Default The best movie I've seen in a LONG time...

Is The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.
See, I've never read the books, and being the stubborn Harry Potter fan that I am, I was ready to hate this film. But oh, was I mistaken.
I was speechless when I walked out of the theatre, I think all I could say was, "Oh my god."
I was so amazed, and moved. This movie is on par with all the adventure dramas in recent years, even better than them. Gladiator, Braveheart, Crouching Tiger...
But this was mystical, and beyond my imagination.
I was so surprised about just how good this movie was...totally unexpected.
Gosh, I must take it upon myself to tell everyone to go and see this movie, because you won't regret it.
And that Legolas with his bow, mmmm...sorry, tangent over!

Default you're alive!

COKIES! You're alive! I had been wondering where you were! LOL

I'm going to see LOTR tomorrow night. I can't wait..I've read a little of the book a few years ago, but I didn't really understand it. SO I picked up my copy last week and started reading and thought it sounded pretty cool. It had been getting really good reviews, too. Usually reviewers either HATE or LOVE a movie. However, all the reviews I've read so far have been 4 stars or A+.....I haven't read one single negative one. And on of my friends saw it Wednesday-- hes a LOTR freak, he skipped school to go see it. He said it rocked, he was expecting it to be like the Harry Potter movie- lots of hype, but not that wonderful (side note- don't you think if HP and Pearl Harbor hadn't had as much hype around them they would have been better?!)...anyway I'm not really what the point of this post is.....but I am excited about going to see the movie tomorrow!

Hey Meg! I'm still around, mostly lurking though.
Sorry, I got a little carried away with my "review", but this movie was just awesome.
I mean, it even got me to pick up my dad's copy and I began to read the beginning of the second one. Because it leaves you hanging! But I stopped, I want to see it on film next year.

Yes, Harry Potter had a lot of hype surrounding it, and in my opinion, it satisfied fans' appetites. It lived up to the hype. A quite enjoyable movie.
But, LOTR just destroys the hype. Saying it just "lived up to the hype" is an understatement. This movie blows the hype out of the water.

By the way, Pearl Harbor was just a bad movie.

Max! C'mon! You're the Star Trek fan, I know you'll love this movie. It's not sci-fi, but it's your kind of movie. I know you'll like it.

All I gotta say here is I saw it and I think they could have left it at the human saying, "Let's go hunt some orc" instead of where they left off...I understand a cliffhanger, but that was just odddddddddd! This girl behind me shouted "WHAT!?!?!?!"

Glad you saw it Max, it IS a great movie isn't it?

P.S.-Cokies, I have to agree with you...
And that Legolas with his bow, mmmm...sorry, tangent over!

I did see Harry Potter...three times actually. And you must know that I was much more excited to see HP than 'Rings'. I was and am a huge fan of the books and I am anxiously awaiting the fifth installment.
I wanted to hate Fellowship, honestly, my father and I had little tiffs about which film was going to be better.
BUT, I was so mistaken.
I couldn't help but care about Frodo and the rest of the gang. I couldn't help but gasp everytime threats came around the corner. I couldn't help but shed a tear near the end( if you've seen the film, then you know exactly which part I'm talking about).
I couldn't help but think "Damn, that was cool!" when Legolas fires off three bows in rapid succession, hitting his mark every time. I was so amazed by every aspect of this film. Now I cannot wait until next December for the second part.
I mean, this was a great film.
Harry Potter was very enjoyable, but it didn't surprise me. It didn't awe me, this Fellowship did, simply.

I'm glad BOTH of you liked it. I sure did.

He has totally changed my vision of elves forever. I used to think of them as the little Santa's helper who wanted to become a dentist in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". But NOW, oh my. Let's just say, he's one of the main reasons why I can't wait for the next film...
