Barbara Eden was a singer before she was Jeannie. In between her shows, and after her TV career, she did nightclub type engagements (several in Las Vegas) and also did TV variety shows. Look on eBay or similar and you can find a copy of her album....do a search under Barbara Eden CD.
Larry Hagman ... well, for the son of a famous Broadway singer, God didn't really grant him the singing gene of his mom (Mary Martin). He did a musical before IDOJ, called The Nervous Set. There's an album out for that, though it's hard to find. Larry does NOT solo on it. Then when he was on DALLAS, he recorded a small 45 record with two songs. His voice was actually perfect for the two songs, which were songs that JR could have sung on that TV show. For this, or the Broadway musical cast album that I mentioned, watch eBay or similar. I found copies of each at eBay. Bill Daily was a jazz musician before he went into TV. He played string bass (i.e. stand up/upright bass) and sometimes piano, in two or three different jazz bands. He would have loved to have made it a career, but two things happened: The Korean War, and he and his wife's wish to adopt children. He went into TV first in the background - he worked his way into floor director. As for singing, I've heard Bill sing on a few occasions - in episodes of TBNS, and then on the radio he'd break out with a song line in response to something a DJ said. He's got a nice voice. I'm not sure if he ever recorded in the jazz bands, or if he also sang in them. |

Diana Ross did a TV special during the early 80's right at the peak of Dallas's popularity and Larry Hagman was a guest on the show, and he and Ross did a song together.

...he recorded two duets with his mother, Mary Martin, for Columbia records in December 1950 {"Get Out Those Old Records", and "You're Just In Love" [from Irving Berlin's Broadway musical, "Call Me Madam"]}.
As for Barbara, "I DREAM OF JEANNIE" bolstered- and revived- her confidence in performing as a singer (she later recalled that, in the early '50s, she had a chance to pursue a singing career back East, but "I just didn't have the guts to go to New York"). She started appearing frequently on variety shows in late 1966 [including "THE ANDY WILLIAMS SHOW"], then worked her way up to appearing as "Lalume" in a 90 minute version of "Kismet" on ABC in October 1967 (a black and white kinescope excerpt of her performing the show-stopping number "Not Since Nineveh" is posted on YouTube). Then, she started appearing in nightclubs with her "act"....
