Okay, so I wanted to finish this story in Part 2, but I had to log out momentarily. SO PLEASE READ PARTS 1 AND 2 BEFORE READING THIS ONE!!
So that was the only choice I had--WALK to the church all the way from downtown Bellevue. I didn't care, the sky was clear, the weather warm, and I was on a personal journey. I needed peace of mind. I didn't care how long it would take, I had all night. I just started walking, just armed with my copy of Lisa's 1984 album "All Because Of You"--the album that started me into my whole devotion to all things that are Lisa!! All that night I just spent time talking to God, just thinking about whatever, just trying to get relaxed. Stopped off by the roadside at some business park closed for the night to take a nap under the stars and shady trees, a quiet lot right off the shores of Lake Washington. Got up, walked some more until I got to Factoria, a ritzy shopping suburb south of downtown Bellevue, stopped at a Q-FC store at 2AM for a cherry Coke (thirsty!!), then off to a mini-mart for a bottled water (still thirsty!!). Went off to the side of a vacant building and took another nap for a few hours. Just not sure what the next morning would have in store. Walked past the I-90 and I-405 interchange, strolled up Coal Creek Parkway when I stopped. THERE WAS THE CHURCH!! Got there sooner than I thought! About an hour or so before dawn, so I headed back down to a little trail park right off the water to take another nap in the grass. Awakened about 6AM by a guy walking his very suspicious dog. So I went back up to the church, read through passages of my still-yet-uncompleted Facts Of Life Screenplay, then went in around 7AM when I saw people entering. Once again I felt VERY nervous and ill at ease. Saw people getting the worship music tuned up, recognized one of the guys there from my home church in Auburn, the music director (and father of one of my friends from high school), who figured I had come to see Lisa. Another lady asked if I was part of Lisa's entourage, "because I looked like one of her relatives" (!!!!) And I said, "Nooooo, but it was really nice that you think so!" So after having a cup of coffee, I sat down in front for the special guest, still feeling very agitated and not in the mood to sing or anything. And Lisa and her family came in and sat behind me. She went up and told her story and answered questions. Afterward, I went up with my copy of her album for her to sign. She was very impressed that I brought that piece of memorabilia. She remembered me from Bellingham, and I told her that I sensed God's timing when I rededicated my life to Christ the other weekend up there, because of some news I had received later the next week that... I stopped, frozen with the awful realization of that news, an avalanche of emotion swept over me. The news was so painful, so unspeakable. I began to tremble, trying to say what was on my heart but it was just so devastating. Lisa became concerned and gently took hold of my hands. I began to cry and said in hushed tones, "My mother has a recurring bout with cancer." She told me that I should read 1st and 2nd Thessalonians and to talk with the pastor there. So I talked with the pastor about my mother's condition and we prayed about it. Afterward he invited me to have some cinnamon rolls with everybody and at that point, a terrible weight had been lifted of of me. I was just so happy I just changed from night into day!! So afterward, Lisa spoke again in the second service, and I got to ask what was her favorite episode she did. She said it was the one where she was handcuffed to Jo. After that she did more signings and I got to talk to her son Tucker, who said his parents were getting him a guitar. He said he liked DC-Talk, and I told him I had a refrigerator-sized Marshall amp that was loud enough to wake the neighbors. I got to talk to Haven and Clancy --and I bought Lisa's photo and had her whole family sign it!!!! That was the greatest Sunday morning I ever had!! And as I was waiting at the bus stop to go back, Lisa's SUV pulled out of the driveway, and Steve waved back!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!! The guy from my home church pulled up and took me back, and we spent the whole time talking about Lisa and the show and all fun things. What a great day!!!! So as I began a personal Bible study on 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, I got the gist of what Lisa was trying to say: Stand firm in the midst of troubles, and pray without ceasing. And the coolest thing was, a few months ago, my mother told me that because of everyone praying for her--as well as chemo, HER TUMORS ARE GONE--SHE IS CURRENTLY CANCER-FREE!! The lesson of this story is: Talk to Lisa about your problems, and GOOD THINGS WILL HAPPEN!!!!PRAISE GOD FOR LISA!!!!! |

I'm glad your mom is ok. But are you serious, if I talk to Lisa about my problems she'll actually listen? *sitting here stunned*

To LW4Ever,
I actually said that "Lisa hears your problems, and good things happen" more out of playing with the cause and effect theory, but I think Lisa would really be glad to hear what you'd like to say!! She'd probably refer you to a pastor or a counsellor or someone. I was in a crisis situation, so that's the reason why she listened to me. But I think she'd really give a nice word of advice or encouragement if you talked to to her! I hope she comes to your area! I don't think my mother was healed just because I talked to Lisa--BUT YOU NEVER KNOW!!

Touching...Glad to hear about your mom! Think it's funny Lisa's favorite episode to do was the one where she and Nancy got handcuffed together. That one was hilarious.ks |
