Has been termed by some as the sister show of "Bewitched".Just what IS a sister show?

...is used as a term for two TV shows coming from the same studio that are alike in terms of plot and similarity- although 'I DREAM OF JEANNIE" was produced and owned by Sidney Sheldon, with Screen Gems as his distributor and "landlord"; 'BEWITCHED" was produced "in-house" by the studio. I believe after the initial success of 'BEWITCHED" in the fall of 1964, Screen Gems asked Sheldon to create a similar series for them as part of his contract to create and produce series for them...so, using the concurrent theatrical film "The Brass Bottle" as a model, he created "JEANNIE" {Sidney often recalled in later years, "I had an idea to do a series where the genie wasn't big and fat, like Burl Ives, but a beautiful young woman who comes out of a bottle and says, 'What can I do for you, Master?'"- but previously, there was a beautiful young woman- Evelyn Keyes- who came out of a lamp to serve Cornel Wilde's "Aladdin" in Columbia's 1945 theatrical fantasy/satire, "A Thousand and One Nights" [he even calls the genie "Babs"!]}
