Journalist Who Was Held in North Korea Will Restart TV Career at E!
One of the two journalists who was detained in North Korea during 2009 will restart her television career at E!, the entertainment channel, after taking time off following her departure from Current TV last fall, reports the New York Times' Media Decoder blog.
The journalist, Laura Ling, 33, and her colleague Euna Lee were held in North Korea for four months after they were captured while reporting about refugees from that country. Ling left the network after being released from North Korea because she planned to write about the experience. At E!, she'll host "E! Investigates," an hourlong series that will explore issues such as teenage suicide, the story says. Programs hosted by Ling will begin on Dec. 8.
