So here's something I highly recommend: last night, I hosted an Unsolved Mysteries screening in my backyard. A group of friends came over and we watched a program of what I consider the scariest true crime episodes.
The program included: - New Hampshire Serial Killer - Blind River Rest Stop Murders - Sacramento Convenient Store Murders - Angela Hammond (phone booth abduction) - Colleen Reed (car wash abduction) - Matthew Chase (ATM abduction) - The Wackers (elderly couple harassed by a "kook") - Devin Williams (truck driver who acts strangely in a national forest) - Barbara Jean Horn (girl found in TV box) - "Carol" (man in black truck terrorizes drivers and shoots woman) - Teen Murder Spree (Texas teenagers go on murder spree) - David Hurley (man shot after minor traffic accident) - Dick Hansen (man stalked and possibly shot over a 49ers license plate) - Rohrey Wychgel (man shot and paralyzed in his driveway) - Dr. Michael Swango (sadist doctor) Watching Unsolved Mysteries outside at night is a very different experience. As for the house, I replaced all my normal light bulbs with blue or red lights and kept dark ambient music playing the entire time for when people had to come inside alone to use the bathroom. Everyone enjoyed it, as most haven't seen the show since their childhood, and we plan on having additional screenings in the future. |

That sounds like so much fun. :-) it's always fun to watch something with a group of friends.
"I replaced all my normal light bulbs with blue or red lights and kept dark ambient music playing the entire time for when people had to come inside alone to use the bathroom." I'm sorry. that part just seiously cracked me up. I'd probably have to ask someone to guard the bathroom door for me.

Good idea, you must have some like minded friends, I don't know any friends of mine that would watch UM even inside!

Sounds awesome!
Would love to get everyone on the forum here to get together to do something like that.

Now only for UM to release more DVDs, all the seasons would be ideal

It would be great if I had friends who didn't think UM was so geeky and would come over and have a viewing party. I try to make them watch Dennis Depue "Isn't this scary!?!???" and they just think I'm stupid.

I did have a boyfriend who kind of got into it, though. He'd ask a lot of questions and debate with me some about different cases. His curiousity was piqued with the MacDonald case (which he'd at least heard of beforehand). Anyone in my vicinity eventually watches at least one UM segment with me.

Your screening party sounded pretty cool. It would be cool to attend something like that.
