Forget Guest Starring, Mayim Bialik Joins The Cast of 'The Big Bang Theory'
Meanwhile, there is more romance in store for Jim Parsons' Sheldon. Mayim Bialik, who guest starred as the nerdy Amy in Big Bang's last season's finale and this season's premiere, has been booked for additional episodes and is expected to recur this season, the series' fourth.

'Bang Theory' Ups Mayim Bialik to Regular
The Big Bang Theory is handing out promotions left and right. The CBS comedy — which just upped costar Melissa Rauch to a full-fledged series regular — has rewarded Mayim Bialik with a similar bump. The former Blossom star made her debut as Sheldon's quasi-girlfriend in last season's finale and returned this fall on a recurring basis. Like Rauch, Bialik's new deal is for this season only and — unlike the show's central quintet — doesn't call for her to appear in all episodes produced.

I like the Amy character and i think she makes a great counter point to Sheldon. I'm glad they're bumping up Mayim to regular status.

I think Amy is hilarious and am looking forward to seeing her in more episodes personally. Never watched Blossom, so I was unaware of how comedically talented Mayim Bialik was. She is the male Sheldon and her scenes are quite funny.
