Law & Order: LA Starts Off Strong....Ratings Wise
Law & Order: LA (3.1/9 in adults 18-49, 10.5 million viewers overall), won the 10 PM by a wide margin but was down 11% in the demo from what Law & Order: SVU did in the slot last week, while matching its total viewer delivery. Still, LOLA was up 19% from SVU's premiere in the slot in March and up 63% vs. what Jay Leno did in the hour last fall. As for SVU (2.7/7, 9.2 million), it was down 16% at 9 PM from last week despite featuring a publicized guest appearance by Jennifer Love Hewitt. The J.J. Abrams-produced Undercovers opened the night with a 1.6/5 and 7.1 million viewers, finishing distant fourth in the hour in 18-49.

I saw Law & Order LA. Just a few comments:
1. To whomever does the makeup, stop making everyone so yellow! 2. The script was good, but the casting has some issues. LOVE Skeet Ulrich, but the rest of the cast doesn't "click" for me. I know over the next several weeks, we will see people like Terence Howard and I am eager for that, but in the first episode, everyone seemed to have trouble getting their footing as to who or what their characters are. 3. I hope the storylines become more "real" as opposed to making everyone in LA look like Lindsay & Dinah Lohan. I live in LA, and Hollywood often times present this grossly false image of the city. I hope L&O LA dives into the realness of LA as that will garner much more attention. If L&O LA focuses more on tabloid headlines, I think it will hurt the critical success of the show. |
