Since the first two seasons were a red and sort of purple colour I'm also hoping it has a navy blue border.

Early cover art is already out and can be seen on TV shows on DVD.com

My one question, why is the main picture of Lucy being used from season 4???

Cool

Don't worry Jude. At tvshowsondvd.com they said this was preliminary cover art and subject to change. So it might still be changed to an image from season three.

This to me is from the season 4 episode where Lucy takes over guest star Reta Shaw's son's doorman job and we see that cavalcade of famous stars making cameos, then in the end, Lucy sheds the costume, revealing a glamorous dress and attending the premiere event as well.

BUT......I just realized it also could be from the Danny Kaye season 3 episode.....and by George that is EXACTLY where it's from.

so my bad

It's nice to see that Viv is quite prominent in the cover art since this is her last full season on the show.

Yes I agree Viv certainly deserves to be prominently featured. It's a pity though that the three children weren't featured on it since it is their last season as well before Lucy forgot she had children ! LOL.

I would have liked them to include at least one photo of the kids on the cover too.

I do love the italics for "Lucy" in the title. Since I'm not familiar at all with season three I'm sure that's how the title looked on the episodes that season following on the tradition of using the different designs of the shows title for each season on the DVD cover. it looks very elegant.

Wow! I didn't know we were going to see the cover art so soon! I guess we can't guess the color anymore.

The italics for "Lucy" in season 3, (changed for the third time), seems the most familiar. Wasn't it used for the remaing seasons of The Lucy Show?

Yes, that logo would remain, except for the early episodes in season 5--when that infamous "Lucy in the box" and the bouncing balls intro was done and quickly removed --that will be something if they end up restoring THAT opening!! Well, at least as an bonus extra.

Yeah. I'm anxious to see if that opening is used for the episodes it originally appeared.
