So many great family sitcoms were shot in front of a live audience, and some used the laugh track. Do you think The Brady Bunch would have been affected any different had it been done in front of a live audience.

It would have been a very different show. The sets would have different to accomodate an audience. I think the garden would have been seen through windows at the back of the living room, kitchen and family room as the patio area is where the audience would have sat. It would have looked different too because those 3 camera shows are limited with camera angles only available from the fourth wall.
The cast would seem different as well as they would be reacting to the audience. I am sure it would still be a good show but it would have a very different feel to it. Happy Days started out like TBB filmed as a one camera show before using a live audience. |

Hard to predict how the kids would have reacted to an audience, especially during the first season when they were pretty young. Working before a live audience provides a different type of pressure.
Still, they were professionals. But it certainly would have been a very different show, with a completely different feel to it. |
