OK, all you Gilligan's Islanders. AM I the only person who thinks that the Skipper and the large-figured native maiden might have made good partners?

I would have to disagree with that. Physically, I know what you mean, she is oddly the only woman on the island who has seemed to "go" with him. The Skipper, however, looks for very attractive women it seems of the popular beauty model (like Ginger). Lovey is a kind and very attractive woman closer to his age and I have never noticed his even being attracted to her. Furthermore, the native girl totally overlooks the Skipper and is attracted to both Gilligan and her old native boyfriend. Perhaps you feel that they were a good match if ONLY they were interested in one another--that they have things in common (well, they might both like food and they both seem very interested in the opposite sex...the Skipper is a "strong" man who might do well as a chief's son-n-law although he is often also a chicken in some ways).
