I am posting this thread to commemorate the eleven views of my last thread on this page. Eleven years ago, Patrick Buchanan wrote a book titled "A Republic: Not an Empire". I read the book when it was brand new. I thought that it was written from the point of view of a person very angry with the world around him. I would be very interested in hearing whether other people agree or disagree with that school of thought. In any event, my guess would be that Buchanan was not a "Caroline" fan! I am guessing this because of how gay friendly, woman friendly and Jewish friendly this series was. On top of this, unlike him, this show dealt with such issues as sex, religion and politics in a rather liberal manner. What do other viewers think of this observation?

I try not to think about Patrick Buchanan at all. He's the kind of person who makes inane statements along the lines of, "I believe George W. Bush is getting more liberal every day"...or, "Barack Obama is actually an alien from outer space who's trying to conquer the hearts and minds of not only right-thinking Americans, but those who have minds just waiting to be sucked into his slimy tentacles"....or, "Democrats are brainwashing you every minute you tune into the liberal media, so take a stand and shoot your TV or radio and make me feel better"....or, "1 + 1 equals 5".
