What's wrong with steps? I'm confused. In my building there are steps to get to each of the three floors.

Do they have elevators instead?

I have a rare, muscular condition which affects my walking and balance, and unfortunetaly it's progressive and there is no cure for it. I didn't have any problem with the steps in front of our building until recently, but now I do.

thanx Janice. My condition has, sadly, gotten worse (I now use my motorized scooter almost all the time) so this will be a BIG help to me.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had a teacher in sixth grade that had MS. At the beginning of the year she used a cane to walk. By the end of the school year, however, she had to use a wheelchair.

I used to use a walker almost all the time and a manual wheelchair whenever I would go to say, the movies or the mall, then I started using a motorized scooter instead of a wheelchair, but about a year ago, I started using it more and more, and now I use it for just abouteverywhere that I go to.
