Default 18th anniversary of the murder of Susan Taraskiewicz

This week marks the 18th anniversary of the murder of Boston Logan Airport employee Susan Taraskiewicz. Her mother, Marlene Taraskiewicz, went to the Logan Airiport this week to hold a vigil in Susan's memory.

It's hard not to admire Marlene. She lost her daughter to homicide and, to add insult to injury, whoever committed the crime has gotten away with it. What she has been doing shows that, even after 18 years, she has not given up on seeking justice for Susan. She has certainly been brave enough to bring national attention to the case, via shows like Dateline and UM (which originally featured the case in February 1996).

I'm sure it's been a very long 18 years for Marlene.

The main thing that always disturbed me about this case was the fact that Su's co-workers knew she was going to get them food, which meant they knew should be back in no time. Yet not a single co-worker reported her missing for 36 hours. They are involved somehow. Yet they've gotten away with it for almost two decades now.

I agree, that always bugged me too.

The irony is there were definitely people who would've had it in for Su, and you'd expect them to be suspects. People like the idiot who broke her radio 3 years earlier for no reason, whoever spray painted her locker or gave her harrassing phone calls, etc. While I am sure one of them or someone linked to them killed her, why does it come back to her co workers?

From all accounts in the reenactment she was getting sandwiches for HER crew who was working hard (i.e. people on her side), so it's even weirder they didn't report her missing.

Her "crew" wasn't just the people on her side. She was promoted soon before her death, and was the boss of ALL the tarmac workers, aka her "crew".

Way I remember this case it was just a bunch of people around her who couldn't deal with the fact that a woman was doing good in a male dominated field.

Nothing but a bunch of lowlifes with a caveman, chauvenistic mentality. Can't stand trash like that.

I don't know if they killed her, but every damn one of them who pulled all the crap they did on her should have been thrown out on their can.

No idea what the hell is the matter with people sometimes.

I also agree that at least some of the workers must've been in on it.

Her co-workers were sexist pigs, jealous of her because they wanted her job position, and did away with her in a cruel manner. I hope they can solve this one, 19 years is a long time to get justice.
