Default Wuh haaaapen?

It'll take an incredible ILL fan to help me with this silly question!

Like many of you, I have been a fan for years and I have all of the DVDs. Years ago when ILL was on either Nick at Nite or TV Land, my mom and I were watching an episode together. I can't remember which one it was and I haven't come across it while watching my DVDs yet. (I haven't been watching them in order, though.) Anyway, I wish I could remember which episode we were watching because Ricky cracked us up. What I do remember is Ricky came into the apartment and asked Lucy what happened. The long drawn out way he said it was what we found funny: "Wuh haaaapen?"

Now I know this could be one of a hundred episodes. Any ideas, though? If you can suggest anything, I'll be sure to watch for it. Sometimes to be silly, we ask each other "wuh haaaapen?" the way Ricky did. (Yeah, we're dorks. LOL)

Could it be the episode where Lucy and Ethel were repapering Lucy and Ricky's bedroom after selling the furniture when she received a phone call saying that she won the furniture from the homeshow drawing? I could imagine he may have said that in that episode because she had the livingroom filled with the bedroom furniture. IDK, for some reason that one came to mind. LOL! Remember too, he had Fred call to tell her she won so they would go to that show that night that he got tickets for so he thought it was Fred that called.

He also used that expression in the episode with Bob Hope, during the scene in the locker room.

I think he said that in the ep that introduces the Europe sequence. He tells Lucy about going, then when he calms her excitement, he tells her that he can't take her, and she seems to reluctantly agree, and they decide to go out for dinner and Ricky goes to the other room. But then Ethel comes in and plants the notion of him not wanting her along so he can... play around... then he comes back into the living room and Lucy throws a fit and says "I-I-I know what you're up to-- ooohhh!!" She goes to the bedroom, then Ricky looks at Ethel and says, "Whaa' happem?" Ethel then devilishly 's.

I just watched that episode and that's not it. Thank you for trying to help me.

I don't think Fred and Ethel were in the scene. It wouldn't have been a Hollywood, Europe, or CT episode. I know Ricky and Lucy were in their apartment. I think they were in the living room, but my mom thinks they may have been in the bedroom. I'm guessing it happened toward the end of an episode. I'll find it one day!

This is another thing that may or may not have happened in my "mystery episode." Not sure, of course, but maybe it was one of those times when Lucy snuck into Ricky's club? She beat him home and he came in and asked the question...? It's gonna drive me insane! LOL

That sounds like "The Ricardos Change Apartments" when Ricky hires movers to switch the furniture between the old and new apartment, but the movers show up after Lucy and the Mertzes already switched it, so their furniture ends up back in the old apartment. Of course, the Mertzes were in that scene and you're saying they weren't in the one you're remembering, so I assume that's not the one you have in mind?

I just thought of another episode and I know you said that Fred and Ethel weren't in the scene, but I just had to bring it to your attention. "The Black Eye" when Ricky accidently gave Lucy that black eye and Fred and Ethel didn't believe their real story. Toward the end after Lucy told Ethel that story about having a lover they came home to find Fred hididng in the closet, Ethel gave Fred a black eye and he ran into Ricky in the hall and Fred socked him and that's when Ricky appeared in the doorway covering his eye and asked, "Wuh Haaappen?"

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll watch those episodes later and let you know. I could be wrong about Fred and Ethel being in the scene.

You're right, Hughsgirl! Thanks! It's not as funny as we remembered, but it was funny. I guess it was more his expression than the way he said it.

You're very welcome! I know how it is when you can see the scene, but not the episode. It's kind of like when watching a movie you see an actor and say, where have I seen that person before or what movie have I seen that person in lately? It can make you crazy! Glad I could help!
