Missing a Resident Evil film faithful to the video games?

Well, Sony and Capcom are re-teaming for another animated feature, a sequel to 2008's Resident Evil: Degeneration.

Resident Evil: Damnation is now in the works with Makoto Kamiya returning to direct. The film is being geared for a 2012 release.

Expect a theatrical release in Japan and likely a direct-to-DVD/limited theatrical run here in the States, similar to Degeneration.

Plot details have not been revealed, however, Leon Kennedy is back.

Can you ever have too much Resident Evil? Nah, I didn't think so.

Resident Evil: Damnation is the second CG feature-length film in the well-rounded franchise. The animated film is currently in production in 3D, with plans for a theatrical release in Japan in 2012.

Our friends at G4 got an exclusive first look at the trailer on Monday's "Attack of the Show!", but you can see it right here.
