Some thoughts here...
It was shocking to find out that in 1977, my home state was just beginning to overturn a ban on mixed marriage! There was a soul brother album chart, singles chart, gospel chart, jazz chart... I guess they didn't want a soul brother country chart, since they figured Charley Pride on every song would be redundant - although O.B. McClinton and Big Al Downing could've had a shot at it too. ... And who died and declared W to be the "strawberry letter"? |
