Glenn Shadix Dies Aged 58
GLENN SHADIX, the actor who starred in TIM BURTON's 1988 film 'Beetlejuice', has died aged 58. Shadix's manager Juliet Green told the Associated Press that the actor died in his home in Birmingham Alabama on Tuesday 7th September 2010. The cause of death is currently unknown, but Shadix's sister Susan Gayne told The Birmingham news that her brother had been using a wheelchair to get around, and that he had fallen in the kitchen and hit his head.

Shadix will be best remembered for his portrayal of the interior designer 'Otho' in 'Beetlejuice', and the actor went on to work with acclaimed director Burton twice more in his career. He provided a voice for the 1993 animated film 'The Nightmare Before Christmas', and also appeared in the 2001 remake of 'Planet of the Apes'. As well as appearing in film, Shadix was a successful television actor, regularly appearing in the multi-award winning 'Seinfeld', and before his death the 58-year-old was set to begin rehearsals for the ALAN BENNETT play 'History Boys'.

A message on his official website reads, "It is with great sadness and pain that the family of William G 'Glenn Shadix' Scott announces his passing this morning. A memorial service will be held at Lakeside Baptist Church, Birmingham, on Saturday, September 11th".
