Even by 70s standards, that is one ugly "style".

Here are a couple of pictures I unearthed of Michael Moriarty (Law & Order). I don't know when these were taken, but apparently he had his own take on the puffy shirt.

I would've loved to see EADA Ben Stone show up in court wearing it.

I feel like bursting into a rousing version of "I Am the Pirate King", or something similar like "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General" and "Captain's Song" from H.M.S. Pinafore.
