...the last time the the four appearances by The Beatles on "THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW" (1964-'65) were released on DVD was about seven years ago. The shows were basically intact, save for the fact the Kent cigarette commericals [Lorillard Tobacco was a regular sponsor at the time] were deleted. How complete are these shows going to be this time?

I never knew these shows were released before--are they out of print now? I hope some commercials are present but if some are missing I wouldnt know anyway as I have never seen the whole episodes.

...the original DVD box set of "THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW", featuring The Beatles, was available for only a limited time during the last half of 2003, 'dakert'...mostly offered via TV, including 'TV Land' {"edsullivan.com" was the website you went to for more information and additional orders}, and is "out of print". That's why a "brand new" set is about to be released...

They have that hear at my local library, and it came with the original commericals.
On February 7th when the Beatles did the Sullivan show the first time, the cast of Oliver was on and one member was Davy Jones who in two years would be in the ultimate Beatles take of (except for the Rutles), the Monkees. |

I believe the main difference between this set and the older one will be, some restored talking between Ed and the boys.

I just watched the first episode and I liked it. I almost felt sorry for the acrobats that had to go on after The Beatles but seeing that lady's legs get twisted all around--it was worth it.
The ads were fun but did anyone else think there were alot of them? |
