Question Did Any Other DJs Appear on WKRP?

I mean you had Dr Fever & Venus Flytrap...what about the rest of the day & weekends? Did they show any other djs on the show?

There was a DJ who replaced Johnny briefly in the first season when Johnny took the job in LA. (He was played by Philip Charles McKenzie, but I don't remember his character's name). He was fired for payola and coke use.

As for the other DJs, there were a few mentioned but I don't think they were ever seen. Then again, I'm not positive.

I just found it odd that only Fever & Flytrap were really the only djs featured.

I'm guessing the show's budget had a lot to do with that. They Probably couldn't afford to hire any more actors. So instead other DJ's were mentioned but never seen as Monika mentioned.

They had a large enough cast anyway for a half-hour show, so I doubt there would've been enough airtime for any other regulars.

There was one episode where they had another DJ. Cant remember which one but he was in the office talking to Andy. He was an afternoon DJ and he seemed really obnixious as I recall.

There was also another DJ that appeared. He did a Sunday morning religious show. The episode was about him and how he was selling merchandise over the radio and Andy and Mr. Carlson wanted him to stop.

The religious guy was more of a host than a DJ. And he wasn't an employee of WKRP. He only purchased airtime from the station to air his program every Sunday morning.

Default Other DJs

As I recall, there was an episode when Johnny tried to start a union and in one scene, he was holding a meeting with the other DJs. You could only see their backs as they sat listening. Mr. Carlson stopped in to hear what he could and Johnny politely asked him to leave, as it was against union rules for management to be in attendance.

I also think that in the softball game episode, they spoke of "Bucky, the weekend DJ" and showed clips of him playing third base while drinking beer after beer. Wasn't this also the same Bucky that played a technician in another episode?

Yup, that was the same guy, the union-card holding engineer, Bucky. Bucky was played by Bill Dial, who wrote several episodes of the show, including "Turkeys Away".

Several DJ's are mentioned throughout the series but are never seen. These include Moss Steiger who worked the graveyard shift following Venus Flytrap's show. Rex Erhardt (who was actually seen in the 4th season episode "Rumors") who's timeslot immediately followed Johnny Fever's morning drive show. And Dean the Dream who had the afternoon drive timeslot. One other DJ who was seen is Doug Winner who was played by Phillip Charles MacKenzie. He was hired and fired on the same episode when he was caught accepting payola and using drugs.
