Rolleyes Little House on The Prarie Was Like A Glorified After School Special?

That was the words of a critic who denounced LHOTP as "Cheesy" & "Preachy"! Do you think Little House became to preachy? It certainly wasn't cheesy. I don't think a baby being burned to death can be categorized as cheese. Do you???

Well, some of the stories DID border on the melodramatic, but I think this critic was a bit harsh.

No way.

The difference between Little House On The Prairie, and an Afterschool Special, was:

Little House had excellent production values.

Little House had excellent actors.

Little House had excellent writers.

And,

Little House wasn't afraid to praise God.

"NELS!!!!!!!" "MOTHER!!!!!!" I always felt sorry for poor, henpecked Nels. Then of course, you have Willie, who eats the family out of house and home. Of course, when Nellie leaves town, you get the psychotic Nancy.

Don "Red" Barry did kill himself. He committed suicide in 1980 by shooting himself.
