The late Robert Stack was not the ONLY host of "Unsolved Mysteries"
The NBC series had two OTHER hosts, both like Robert Stack, they are deceased.Who were the OTHER two hosts?

I hate when two people are trying to post at the same time. It makes me look like I ripped off your answer.

It should be mentioned that all three men were under consideration to host the show when it became a weekly series. The reason Stack was picked was actually quite simple: He demanded a lesser salary than either Burr or Malden.

That's right. In a 1994 article, Malden and Burr asked for what producer John Cosgrove desscribed as "astronomical" salaries. He didn't say specifically how much they wanted, but it was established that it was more than what the studio was willing or able to pay them. A salary request is a common factor in hiring decisions. |
