I'll bet you DIDN'T know THIS about William Shatner
In 2 TV-series episodes he did BEFORE his role as Capt.James T.Kirk on "Star Trek",1957's "Alfred Hitchcock Presents"episode "The Glass Eye",and 1960's "One Step Beyond"episode "The Promise"(I have seen both episodes),he played English characters, and in those roles(the only two in which he did this),he spoke with a British accent.

It's ironic that William Shatner played English characters in his first two roles since he was born in Quebec, the one Canadian province that wasn't founded by the English. Quebec was founded by the French and was originally known as New France.
