It sounds like your dad had a tuff time of it. Thank God he had help. But I sorry to hear about your loss. My dad is elderly and I am so scared of loosing him. Its an awful thought. I hope you can take comfort in the idea of your father being in a better place where he suffers no pain... and as you said, is probably hanging out with Freddie.
With Freddie's talent, I have to believe he would have established a strong acting career. That seemed to be his goal. It appeared he loved making people laugh but he had his serious side too. He was so gifted, I am sure he would be hanging out with the Brad Pitt, George Clooney's of today (Clooney is another talented man and prankster from all I have read about him.) I bet they would have hit it off great.

Cool

Wonderful question! I think Freddie would have done a little of everything in the entertainment business. He would have branched out in his acting from comedy to drama, and once CATM ended he would have pursued Broadway, since he could sing and dance. I imagine he would have made records and maybe promoted his albums with some concerts (nightclub type).

Having done all that and reached middle age, I think today he would mostly be directing, producing and writing (both screenplays and music). Maybe once in a while if the right part came along he would still act, and I can imagine him still singing in public--his voice maybe a bit deeper, but I could handle that!

I think he'd be doing a talk show like Rosie O'Donnell's or the TONIGHT SHOW. He'd do stand up comedy, movies, sitcoms, sing, concerts etc. He's be just as hot today cuz folks would re-discover him thanks to the CATM re-runs...

I agree with you guys--I don't know why I didn't think of this as soon as I saw this topic, I've thought of it sooo many other times! I know Freddie guest hosted the Tonight Show several times, and if he had still been around when Johnny retired he should definitely have been first choice as replacement! I can even picture him today with salt and pepper hair (isn't Jay Leno about the same age?) and perfectly tailored suits (of course, a tux on New Year's Eve and the show's anniversary!), telling jokes based on current events and doing terrific interviews, plus maybe even singing a bit! (Can you tell I have a thing for the little we got to hear of his singing voice on CATM?!)

You got it (& said it all)!

Actually Jay was older. He's either 50 or 51. Freddie did look mature for his age. I would've loved to have seen him host the TONIGHT show...

Besides all the television, he would be giving fatherly advice to his son, Freddie, Jr. and we would be seeing pictures of him, grey hair and all, next to Freddie Jr. in People magazine!!! Oh, how I wish it could be true!

Thumbs up

OMG yes! Although Freddie Jr. has done alright for himself in spite of lacking that fatherly career advice, I can just see that! Our Freddie would have been very interested in his son's career, even if perhaps he wouldn't have wanted him to go into the business because of what it (almost, if Sr. were still with us ) did to him.

Coincidentally enough, I just watched again the other day the episode in which Cesar Romero played Chico's father. I can so imagine our Freddie turning out to resemble him, just as Ed said Chico would grow to look as handsome and distinguished as Gilberto! Silver hair and all, our sweet Prinze would still be beautiful!
