Red face Can You Hear The Laughter?

I think the reason this movie depicted Freddie as a jerk is because toward the end maybe he was. I have found thru some first-hand experience that someone who makes the decision to "hurt" themselves try to alienate those around them so when they do carry out their intentions they feel like no one will be hurt. Thats not true tho. Its those around them that are hurt the most, because they have no idea why this person acted this way towards them. I know this because I did it thinking that if I got rid of everyone around me then I could do what I felt I had to do and not feel guilty about it.

Chica, honey, I think you have some real insight here! When I was in the throws of my depression and suicidal behaviors years ago, I too, tried to alienate and hurt those around me that loved me in order to justify what I wanted to do, namely take my life. I felt that if they hated me, I would not be missed and free to leave them for good. Boy was I wrong. Too bad Freddie was never given the opportunity to discover how wrong he was about this too. I hope you are doing better. I was praying for you when you asked us to remember you back a few months ago. I know this will be something that will be a daily struggle, it is for me, but it does get better if you keep surrounding yourself with people who love you for who you are! That is what finally broke that cycle for me, people who refused to give up on me! Hang in there!

You are probably right about that. It does make sense that this would be the natural thought pattern he might follow...."if I make them not like me, they wont care if anything happens to me". Also, as I have noted in previous posts... we have to take into account he was all alone, no one to really BE THERE in California for him, his age, (he was really just a boy in a mans body). I know when I was 22 I may have looked like a woman, but I still had alot of growing up to do and drugs really mess up a persons mind. I got SOOOO mad when I think about the doctor who gave him Qualudes!!!!!

Thanks Luckymama....But these last 2 or 3 weeks have been really, really hectic for me...My dad had a heart attack and then they found out he's diabetic too~~so is my mom~~ and trying to get him to change his eating habits has been sheer HELL!!! He can't seem to understand that he can eat anything he wants as long as its in moderation.....And then to slow him down so his heart can heal.. Its been crazy to say the least..And then to top it all, It'll be a year in January that my grandmother died and I'm having a real hard time with that....Of course I've had trouble dealing with that all along. I can't help but feel maybe I could have done more to help her
