I found this article and I did not see this posted, so I thought that I would share it. This was a nice article and it really captures the appeal and the large impact this show has had in America. The show has experienced tremendous longevity and a large following. There is a special fondness towards this show.

The key to being a real American is being born on American soil, or failing that, passing a citizenship test.

I like the show and all, but metaphors like that bug me. Do you have to see Casablanca to be a real American, too? In that case, I'm an illegal alien.
