Yeah, that was from the episode "Uniform Days", which aired in Season 6 (2/7/1980).

There was also another episode where they appeared in uniform, called "Examination Day" where they work in uniform because all the officers (including Levitt!) are taking the Sergeant's exam.

Also, Wojo appears in uniform in "The Rand Report" where he is told due to manpower issues he must work 1 week each month as a uniformed beat cop. He takes it very hard and announces he's quitting. The end of the episode is both funny and emotional.

BTW, the NYPD's uniforms are quite different today!

The only times I remember them ever dressing in uniform were in the later episodes, any after the first four seasons. Were there any within the earlier seasons with the original cast?

Same here Althought I thought I saw a picture of him in uniform after his character was killed off in "Miami Vice" which made me stop watching "Miami Vice" I think it was the fourth episode, but I am not sure Does anyone know if they saw it too?

Yeah, he was killed off in the 4th ep of Miami Vice. On the upside, he did get to wear patrolman blues in an episode of The Streets of San Francisco and in the ABC movie of the week Weekend of Terror (1970).

On The Streets of San Francisco DVD, Season 2, Part 1, it is The Streets of San Francisco episode titled "A Wrongful Death" shows him as a patrolman who gets shot Later he is shown on a hospital bed and you can see with bandages across his well-formed chest and you also see he has a real nice tattoo on his right bisep

Yeah, and he also had to wear a REALLY bad hairpiece. If you can, check out the episode of Banacek called "The Two Million Clams of Cap'n Jack" where you will see him totally shirtless and ripped!!! Even better is the 1978 movie Mean Dog Blues where Mr. Sierra plays a prisoner and is wearing absolutely nothing but a pair of black briefs (!!!) while waiting for the, ahem, examination by the prison doctor.

Here's what the cover of the DVD looks like. It's the last episode on the set.
