Thumbs down 'The Ropers' Christmas TV Special That Never Was

In October 14th, 1979, Audra Lindlay And Norman Fell did an interview promoting their spinoff series, "The Ropers." What I found interesting was a little blurb about what to expect from the series in the upcoming season. Audra reveals that they were planning to do a Christmas crossover special with the cast of Three's Company. For whatever reason, that special obviously never happened....

Hey Pav!

It was an AP interview I found after a Goggle search. I believe the newspaper that printed it was the Toledo Blade.

It did happen, it was called-"christmas at the Ropers" and aired on 12/18/79 and Jack fell into the Ropers Christmas Tree and all the balls and lights hit the floor. Then the girls were trying to untangle Jack from the Christmas Lights while Stanley, Helen, and the other couple just stood there shaking their head at how clumsy Jack was-lo

I have it on DVD with original commercialsl

Do you get your jollies just by posting completely false information and then seeing how many people fall for it?

Actually Jack, Janet & Chrissy (John Ritter, Joyce DeWitt & Suzanne Somers) crossed over to The Ropers one time in the episode "The Party" which aired Sept 15, 1979, according to episodeguides.com. This would not have been a Christmas episode.

I know, but my point was there is no episode called "Christmas at the Ropers" , and this is the only time J J & C crossed over to The Ropers so I'm not understanding what aired on 12/18/79.

Nothing did. The Ropers wasn't even on that night, and the Three's Company episode that did air was "The Reverend Steps Out." (The one where Chrissy's father is up for a promotion at the church, but Chrissy has to move out for him to get it.)
