TV Let's All Write to Nick at Nite! (This Is Serious!)

I've sent a letter to Nick-at-Nite requesting that Bewitched be put back on their network. I suggest we all work together to put our favorite show back on television! Let's all write letters and send them! Sign online petitions! Or write to Hallmark...or ABC...or someone! This is an S.O.S! Save Our Show! We're all in this together! Come on, let's do it, do it, do it!!!

And don't say that they won't answer or care about our opinion! No, no, no, we've got to stay positive! With a little positive thinking, there's nothing you can't achieve! Especially if we all work together as a team!
Besides...think about the children.

Now let's all get down to business!

They're not going to put Bewitched back on N@N. They don't air any series that hasn't aired in the last 2 decades

It's futile to even try writing to them. The time for sitcoms like Bewitched on N@N has come and gone

Those days are gone. Nick is no friend to any of the shows from the 60's or for that matter the 70's. It's doesn't match the demos they are interested in reaching. In the next few years TV Land will phase out whatever is left from that era. The hope rests in some kind of internet classic TV type station, and that will come with a monthly subscription fee. I don't know if it will happen, but that's the only hope.

Yeah, unfortunately you're about 10 years too late on this one.

Good idea but it wont happen. Nick at Nite is too far gone to go back and be as great as they once was.

Oh, my stars. Didn't you all hear what I said? Nick at Nite is not the only network we can write to. We can write to TV Land, WGN, ABC, sign petitions, anything! If Nick at Nite doesn't care, someone will. Cheer up! Just try to smile And hope for the best.

Scratch TV Land from the list as they are trying to get away from Classic TV. Beaver & Gunsmoke are already gone from their site and I have seen on some media sites where that the only reason Andy Griffith is on TV Land at all is due to the show's 50th..next year bye bye Andy !!! Bewtiched...well at least there is WGN.

Writing to the nets? Nah one should write to the advertisers and their consultants...they are the ones who have more a say as to what a show is seen and what is not. Those people really believe that the 25 year old has more money to spend than a 45 year old and therefor the 25 year old person "lifestyle" is a perfect match for "Cougar Town" and reality TV...but can't be interested ( allowed ) for Bonanza...when networks follow reports like "this" and spends millions on them....classic TV really doesn't stand a chance.

So apparently that big motivational speech was for nothing, eh? Well, I'm still going to try. Just like Endora said... "Don't give up so easily. I don't!"

Feel fortunate enough that you can purchase the entire series on dvd and watch it 24/7 if you wish and create a Bewitched Network at home if you want, we are all positive here, positive that what you are saying will never happen, but we do appreciate your enthusiasm, but unfortuantley it is not realistic, it's like saying be positive that the patient will come back to life after death, it just doesn't happen. All the networks you mention (except WGN) have entirely different programming ideas, ABC Family would never run anything from the 60's, even if Hallmark picked it up, they would remove it after a few weeks....locals and syndication has changed since the 80's.

The networks just don't care about us anymore. Sad but true.

The real hope is for RTV to buy a library programming deal from Sony to start airing all the great old Screen Gems! If they would, most RTV stations would start scheduling Bewitched, Jeannie, etc in a moment's notice!

What's a library programming deal? Is it like a sort of contract?

^Yes. Currently RTV has a deal with NBCUniversal's library which is why you see shows like Ironside, Magnum, Simon and Simon, Rockford Files, etc on their schedule. They also made a deal with another independent distributor that contains I Spy, Robin Hood, Daniel Boone.

So should I write to RTV and ask them to buy a deal? Or do I pay myself? What's the catch?

Amen!! I own the DVDs and get to see the episodes uncut and commercial free - whenever I want. I've long since given up on the TV channels, local or cable, to rerun any quality sitcoms and dramas anymore.
