I was watching Turner Classic Movies last night and Little Women was on. The version from 1933 with Katherine Hepburn. It's just interesting to note that the character of "Jo", played by Hepburn, happens to be a wild tomboy! Were the writers inspired to create the character of our FOL Jo by Little Women?
If any of you haven't read or seen Little Women, you should. I think anyone who enjoys The Facts Of Life would like it. It's about 4 sisters. |

Thanks for the recommendation. I have actually never read that book. I was looking for one to read over my Christmas break, and it seems I have found it. Thanks!

I don't think it was (FOL originally 7 girls, etc...), but when I read the book it really sounded similar! Some of the characters relate to FOL characters and their mother has some wise piece of advice at the end of every chapter (Mrs. G at the end of {almost} every ep...lol).
The writers definitely could have had LW in mind after the first season...who knows. |

I have this book and it's been on my TBR list for a while now. I never thought about the show being based on it, but now I'm anxious to read the book.
