Was it to star in Laverne & Shirley? I don't think it was, but I am not 100% sure? Anybody know why she was written off The Odd Couple?

Yes. she portrayed Robert Dreyfuss' sister-in-law Janice, who was married to his brother Charlie, played by Michael Pataki. Even though Paul Sand in Friends and Lovers had a plum timeslot between All in the Family and Mary Tyler Moore, the show failed and lasted less than a season.
