What is needed is a list of what episodes are on what DVD's since there are so many duplicates being circulated. Since we do not have the luxury of watching the Nelsons on free tv, we must rely on DVDs to complete our collections. I have spent considerable time on the internet and have not found a definitive source of what episodes are available. Has anyone else had any luck?

I started to make my own a couple years ago but it's a big task. It's just a regular spreadsheet and I used the episode listing from TV.com. Maybe this will give me the desire to finish it.

of course if the Nelson family would allow a company to remaster and release the show by seasons, that would be awesome. But alas, I don't think we will ever see that day.

I hear you. I realize 435 episodes is a lot to remaster but I also doubt that all the episodes have been preserved. |

All the surviving episodes need to be on DVD, and this show also needs more fans.

With all Ozzie did to try to ensure the best quality for the show in it's production it's sad to see that the intergrity of them is not being upheld. When the Nelson official relseases were made, and they were short, it was said that those were the only masters or whatever the Nelsons had. I can't believe that Ozzie didn't have something in place to preserve the show. If not for the advent of reruns, and future generations of tv fans but at least for the legacy he was leaving for future generations of his own family. It's sort of like home movies for Nelson family. I'm holding out hope for some more lost episodes of Ozzie and Harriet. And whatever episodes of O&H that Ozzie didn't care for that he didn't want in syndication, they can't be THAT bad. Even a bad episode of O&H is great tv anddeserves to be seen. |

Yes and he said they'd eventually all be released. When? He didn't say. |

And really I don't think Ozzie believed any of the episodes were so horrible that they never were intended to see the light of day again. Ozzie knew it would be impossible to sell to stations a package of all 435 episodes, so he picked up what he thought were the best from each season and placed those in a package. The fact that David chose another 200 for the Disney run is an indicator that the episodes (at least then) were all still intact. Many program copyright owners often put masters in a/c storage like in salt mines, etc.
