Cool UPDATE Eli Roth Confirms Thanksgiving Movie AGAIN!

8/25/2010

I'm sure you guys remember the fake movie trailers that played during Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double feature Grindhouse which featured Machete, directed by Robert Rodriguez; Don't, directed by Edgar Wright; Werewolf Women of the S.S, directed by Rob Zombie and Thanksgiving, directed by Eli Roth.

Well Machete cannot really be called a fake trailer anymore as the full length movie is on the way, but also it appears that Eli Roth's Thanksgiving may see the light of day.

CinemaBlend caught up with Eli Roth while he was promoting The Last Exorcism and confirmed that a full-length version of Thanksgiving is in the works. Eli Roth told CinemaBlend

"I’ve been working on the script with my co-writer, Jeff Rendell, who plays the pilgrim in the trailer. And it’s me imitating Jeff’s voice [for the narration]. But Jeff has been working. I said that his deal is he has to work on the script while I’m promoting The Last Exorcism, and as soon as I’m done in mid-September he’s going to fly to California, we’re going to sit down, and bang out the script."

I love all the fake trailers on the Grindhouse double bill and if Machete and Thanksgiving do well maybe the others will see a feature length version, well I'm hoping so as I'd love to see Don't as a full length movie. If you haven't seen the trailer for Thanksgiving you can check it out below:

C'mon Edgar Wright!....C'mon Rob Zombie!

The fake trailer Hobo With Shotgun(winner of Robert Rodriguez's South by Southwest Grindhouse trailers contest) is also being made into a feature length film(with Rutger Hauer as the Hobo)

The Script for Eli Roth's Thanksgiving Is Being Worked On
by Ryan Turek
August 23, 2012

Out promoting his new Las Vegas attraction, Goretorium, Eli Roth dropped an update on Behind the Thrills regarding the feature film version of his faux Grindhouse trailer, Thanksgiving.

It's been five years since the preview made its debut in between the Quention Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez double-feature and fans have endured five long years of rumors surrounding a Thanksgiving feature.

But, according to Roth, it's finally "going to happen." "I'm working with the 'Clown' writers on it," Roth told Behind the Thrills.

Clown is another project Roth is shepherding for writers Jon Watts and Christopher Ford (Robot and Frank). The film concerns a man who dresses up as a party clown one day and finds he cannot remove the costume and it soon becomes a permanent fixture.

Roth went on to add that there's a treatment for Thanksgiving and, "We finally cracked the story and figured out how to make it really, really scary, and a reason to do it. Before John starts shooting 'Clown' he's got a window. We'll have a draft soon."

Of course, from there, it will then be a question of when Thanksgiving will go into production. Roth has a few projects in the works. Currently, he's in post on Hemlock Grove.

NEWS‘Thanksgiving’ – Eli Roth Finally Carving Up His ‘Grindhouse’ Spinoff!

At long last, horror guru Eli Roth is getting behind the camera for a feature version of Thanksgiving, his long-gestating spinoff based on a mock trailer that Roth made for the Quentin Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez-directed Grindhouse (2007) film, reports Deadline.

The news comes on the heels of a report that Tim Miller will be coming in to assist Roth on his Borderlands reshoots for Lionsgate so Roth can focus on setting the table for Thanksgiving.

“The Thanksgiving trailer presented the gory teaser about a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town that makes a big annual fuss over the annual turkey day,” recalls the website. “One of the pivotal scenes involved Roth himself, separated from his head while in the throes of passion with a date in a convertible.”

Shooting will begin in March with a script by Jeff Rendell, with Spyglass behind it. Roger Birnbaum and Roth are producing.

Spyglass, as you might recall, has revived the Scream and Hellraiser franchises, both once owned by Dimension Films.

Default Thanksgiving "the movie"

We have seen movies named after holidays like Halloween but get ready for the scariest Thanksgiving feast ever in the new horror film Thanksgiving. The movie is very scary and I think this will be a hit for horror fans. I don't recall who's in Thanksgiving but it will sure be a monster hit in theaters
