Growing Pains was on Nick at Nite in 2007. Didn't do that well, so they moved it to sister network The N (now known as TeenNick). It has aired there on and off. The contract is expiring, that is why they are removing it.

I'm surprised they never tried TV Land instead of The N.

This is just sad. The contract, as you said, started in 2007 and the show has hardly aired whatsoever on both N@N or The-N (oops, I mean TeenNick).

It lasted on N@N for what, that one week marathon and aired on and off on TeenNick ever since. Crazy how when they had Fresh Prince for about 3 years as well it was overplayed to DEATH but Growing Pains I feel like still hasn't really been a part of either channel despite the contract being about to expire.

It needs to go back to ABC Family.
