The Pizza Burger: A 2,500-Calorie 'Fat Bomb'
10:58pm UK, Tuesday August 24, 2010 Lea Jakobiak, Sky News Online Burger King is set to launch the Pizza Burger - a two-in-one dish that contains more than 2,500 calories and is four times the size of the chain's Whoppers. The meal will delight fast-food fans when it is exclusively introduced at Burger King's Whopper Bar in Times Square, New York, next month. Besides the beef and a 9.5-inch sesame bun, the Pizza Burger is topped with pepperoni, mozzarella, Tuscan pesto and marinara sauce. It also comes in six slices, just like a pizza. According to blogger Me So Hungry, it is the perfect mix between a pizza and a burger. "The visual highlight was the New York Pizza Burger... it's not bad. Tastes kinda like pizza, but also like a burger," the blogger said. It has been dubbed the "fat bomb" because, for $13 (£8.40), customers can bite into 2,520 calories - the recommended daily intake is 2,500 calories for men and 2,000 for women. One Pizza Burger contains 144g of fat - 59g of which is saturated. It also has 3,780mg of salt, which is more than double the daily limit for adults. John Schaufelberger, Burger King's vice president of global marketing, insisted the Pizza Burger is "intended to be shared". But he also admitted that it "demonstrates the type of menu offerings our guests can expect". According to Mr Schaufelberger, the Pizza Burger is a homage to New York, the home of Burger King. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Str...k_In_September |

No thanks! I can do without that. Eat that and might as well schedule open heart bypass surgery while you're at it. Not only does the pizza burger not sound good, imo, but the picture isn't appetizing either. |

The amount of calories is repulsive. Even if it looked good I would never try it because of that fact alone.

I've sweared off fast food for now. But I guess if you eat 1/6 of it that wouldn't be too bad...but I've also given up red meat so this monstrosity is not in the cards for me either.

I know I eat a lot of salt, but thank goodness it's no where near that much. |

Burger King intends to have a lot of calories in their foods, do they even advertise salads at that place?
Just give me two Bacon Cheeseburgers and four slices of Peperoni, Sausage, Ham, and Bacon Pizza anyday...that may be 2500 calories there! If it's Fast Food for me...It's Wendy's, next it would be McDonald's.... Besides, who would you rather have, Ronald McDonald or The Burger King? |

How can the FDA let them get away with something like that? They're trying to kill us!! I'll pass, I won't eat that junk anymore.

The Pizza Burger looks like punishment food or something a condemned prisoner would eat for his last meal (before his execution). In any case, it would be like death food. Only an extremely healthy person who suffers from depression would be brave enough to eat that monster. If I ate it myself, I would suffer a (legitimate) heart attack within seconds, and it would be far from minor.

It does not sound like something I will be eating anytime soon. If I ate this, I would have to starve myself for the rest of the day and probably part of the next day also. Their prices are getting out of this world also.

And yet again, the obesity rate in this country goes up... to about ninety percent...
