TV: Spielberg Producing Team Bringing Joe Hill's "Locke & Key" to TV!

One of the best graphic novels I've been reading is Joe Hill's (son of Stephen King) Locke & Key, which was originally announced as a film project over at Dimension.

Vulture is reporting that Steven Spielberg, via DreamWorks TV, is teaming with mega-hyphenates Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Transformers, "Fringe") and writer/exec producer Josh Friedman ("Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles") to turn Joe Hill's comic series into a major TV franchise!!

First released in 2008, "Locke & Key" revolves around three kids who end up watching over a secret, spooky New England mansion filled with mystical doors that transport them to different worlds and give them special powers (like turning into a ghost).

Friedman will write the pilot.

TV: FOX Lands Right to Hour-Long "Locke & Key" Adaptation

Despite hefty interest from other networks, FOX has landed Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci's TV adaptation of the graphic novel "Locke and Key", giving the adaptation a series commitment.

The hour-long is being adapted by scribe Josh Friedman, while Kurtzman and Orci are attached as exec producers.

"Locke and Key" comes from Joe Hill, Stephen King's son, who has created a world about brothers who live in a mysterious New England mansion.

The graphic novel, which is designed by artist Gabriel Rodriguez, first launched in 2008.

The third book, "Crown of Shadows", is now available on Amazon.
