Madderest Happy days season 5

Hey happy days fan sorry i have been away for so long. i called paramount home video, and i was asking them about the rest of the HD series. And they cannot tell me anything, they told me that it is up to the producer. Garry Marshal needs to decide whether or not he wants to continue on with the dvds are just luck them all in a vault. How long has it been. Know Laverne and Shirley season 5, or Mork and Mindy. Again the fate of these dvd lies in the hands of Garry Marshal. Come Garry get it together

So what can we do to get the message across to him to PLEASE release the rest on DVD?

Do we need to raise funds and do a PUBLIC ANNOUNCMENT in the LA Newspaper addressed to him?

it isn't Garry Marshall that is holding up the rest of the seasons from being released, it is CBS/Paramount (with an honorable mention to music rights holders jacking the costs up to astronomical levels)

Yeah, by "producer" they probably mean the person(s) in charge of producing the DVD sets, not the producer of the actual series, Garry Marshall.

Hey happy days fans. Hey I know this sounds crazy but I am going to lay it on you anyway.
If I were CBS. Paramount I would seriously try to in the future to team up with Time Life which could and would help them release more HD L&S and M&M television show series. When time life did the odd couple and Get Smart it was very successful. As a matter of fact, I was reading on Tvshowondvd.com that they are working on releasing The Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman. As a suggestion, they should try to partner up with them. What do you all think.

Or turn the rights over to Shout! Factory.

For the most part, they are. Only season two's DVDs had major music replacements due to licensing costs.

Sorry for bumping this thread after so many months.

I've got to ask do you guys think the season 5 DVD will ever come out or is this a cancelled series? Do studios even cancel DVD series after they've been began?

I hope it's not discontinued. Although, sadly, it may be, but you never know. There's always a possibility.

Sadly, yes (Diff'rent Strokes, Knots Landing, Fantasy Island are some examples). Some studios release 1-2 seasons of a show to see if it's viable to release more seasons. It all depends on sales for the most part. Some companies (Shout! Factory for example) are selling shows directly through their website that, although they don't appeal to a mass audience, there's still a fanbase out there that wants to own them. Warner Bros. is selling rare movies using the same method. CBS/Paramount should consider this, but I doubt it.

Wasn't Leave It To Beaver's DVDs cancelled after the second season then they released the whole series at once? Or was it not cancelled?

Universal released the first 2 seasons, then Shout! bought the rights and released the remaining seasons and a box set. They did the same thing with "The Facts of Life" (bought the rights; Sony only released seasons 1-3).

I agree. Shout! has done a pretty excellent job with the DVD sets of theirs I've seen. They put more effort into their releases than some of the original studios do/did! For most of what I've seen, they retain all/nearly all of the original music, are (for the most part) not syndicated edits, and even retain original closing logos.

I'd love to see HD/L&S go to Shout! for the rest of their season releases.
