St. Louis Cardinals TV broadcaster Arrested For DUI
St. Louis Cardinals TV broadcaster Dan McLaughlin is facing charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated following his arrest earlier this week.
McLaughlin was pulled over Monday night on Interstate 64 in Chesterfield after an officer responded to a report of an erratic driver, according to various media reports in St. Louis. Police say McLaughlin refused to take a breathalyzer test. He was taken to Chesterfield police headquarters, charged, and released. McLaughlin declined comment, citing advice of legal counsel. He is the primary play-by-play announcer for Cardinals games on Fox Sports Midwest, and also for St. Louis Blues hockey broadcasts. He was not part of the broadcast of Friday night's game against the San Francisco Giants and will not participate in today's broadcast. His duties were handed over to former Cardinal Rick Horton. He'll be joined by color analyst Al Hrabosky. McLaughlin is expected to return Monday when the Cardinals open a three-game series in Pittsburgh. Cardinals Vice President Dan Farrell, who oversees broadcasting operations, declined comment, as did Fox Sports Midwest spokesman Geoff Goldman. The arrest came on an off day for the Cardinals.
