Was It True That Rhoda "Consistently" Beat The Mary Tyler Moore Show in The Ratings? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I just read that and it just seemed odd to me that that would be true. I guess I am asking if anybody really knows if that were the case or not?

It's true. During the 1974-75 season, Rhoda was ranked # 6 and MTM was # 11. You have to remember that the wedding episode was huge back in 1974 so I'm not surprised. But Rhoda also beat MTM in 1975-76. It was ranked # 8 and MTM was #19. The following year I don't know about since both fell out of the top 30. The producer's decision to break up Rhoda and Joe was costly.

A little bit off it but TV land stopped airing it when I got the channel
