Lorrie Taylor Fox 8 Reporter 7:20 PM EDT, August 12, 2010 MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A teenager threw a party his friends will never forget. Now, they can thank Facebook and the police for the memories. It was a perfect setting for a group of underaged drinkers. "The parents weren't home," said Chief of Montville Township Police Tom Acklin. Police say a fifteen-year-old who lived in a home with his parents had plenty of beer on hand for his guests, some of them, too young to drive. "Dispatch received an anonymous call from someone who said they saw photographs of an underage party on Facebook," the Chief told Fox 8 News. "They gave the address and our officers responded." The Chief says patrol officers could hear music coming from the home on Highland Meadows , as well as, voices. But when they tried to get someone to open up the house it immediately grew silent. "Nobody would answer the door, phone calls were made to the house, no one would answer the phone. The Chief says it was obvious the group of 13 teenagers knew police were at the door, they kept peeking out the windows. "Eventually one person inside the house did answer and during that time some kids ran out the back door that were apprehended." The runaway teens were taken back to the home, the rest were found hiding in the basement and an upstairs bedroom. All but one confessed to drinking alcohol. Each was tested for alcohol and parents were called to pick them up. Everyone was charged with underaged drinking. "I'm not on Facebook so I don't totally understand that concept but I guess I'm going to have to get a little bit more familiar with it, obviously," said the Chief. Acklin also said he believes Facebook could become an important crime fighting tool. |

Facebook is the best. And (I said it once, I'll say it again) Monika and her family are the only sane people left in Ohio. Wasn't the Chicken McNugget woman also from Ohio?

Oh snap. So glad FB wasn't around when I was 15! And that camera phones didn't exist yet/digital cameras were still REALLY expensive. (in two more days, it'll have been a decade since I turned 15... I turned 15 back in 2000)Stupid teens are stupid. Now, let's hope Darwin does his work on them again in the near future...

lol. You're welcome. And, to be fair, I drank as tween. Didn't party but drank. What young person didn't do stuff they regret now?

I hear about facebook not being around when I was a teen. I would have gotten in so much trouble if it were.
