since marion lorne died i was wondering if the character of clara died. let's face it she was very old her powers were waning. i'm glad she wasn't replaced no one could have filled her shoes not even alice ghostley. i must say alice did a pretty funny job mimicking clara.

After Marion Lorne died, the character of Aunt Clara was never heard from nor mentioned again. I guess they felt it would be better that way, and hired Alice Ghostley to play a similar character.

No, that's silly. Aunt Clara perhaps just decided not to pop in as much...perfecting her skills, I suppose...a Bewitched character wouldn't die! Trust me, I know.

Oh Aunt Clara visited all the time, as much as she ever did, it was just always during the week in between our once a week glimpses into Darrin & Samantha's home on 1164 Morning Glory Circle in Westport Conn.

60's sitcoms dealt with an actor's death by not dealing with it. When an actor died, they were either off visiting relatives or were just never mentioned ever again. Just look at 'Petticoat Junction' for example. It wasn't until the 70's when TV characters were allowed to die after the actor who portrayed them also died.

I posted on this previously....Bewitched never discussed the subject of death directly. I prefer to think that Clara simply went on to another dimension.
