Unofficial pilot for California Dreams, secretly alluded to in SBTB?

The episode "Rockumentary" : "Casey Kasem tells the story of how "The Zack Attack" got together and their rise to fame."

We see that, in the end of the episode, Zack was asleep and having a dream of this. The episode aired November 30, 1991. California Dreams premiered October 10, 1992 (the following season). Could it be that the producers of SBTB had the idea for California Dreams already and were testing its reception on SBTB or did this episode cause them to ponder about making a show about a band? I've always been intrigued by this. I consider this SBTB episode to be the unofficial pilot for California Dreams.

Imagine in the finale of California Dreams, if it ended with Zack Morris being woken up by Slater like in the Rockumentary episode. That would have been very Newhart-esque and I think it would have been pretty well-received for its mystical nature. That would have been such a great TV moment.

Also, what do you guys think about having the California Dreams cast, after the show's final episode in 1996, joining (I mean, full out replacing) the cast of Saved by the Bell:the New Class. Now that, would have been fun!

So pretty much, I'm just thinking that Saved by the Bell and California Dreams could have had more fun associations that connected the two series together in the storylines.
