7:27 PM EDT, August 5, 2010

Gaithersburg, MD -- A man is accused of squirting semen from a bottle onto shoppers at two shopping malls.

Michael Wayne Edwards Jr., 28, has been charged with spraying the fluid on a shopper at a Giant Food store in Gaithersburg on July 15.

Police said he got the liquid on a woman and then snapped a photo of what he had done with his cell phone.

Edwards has also been charged in a similar incident at a Michaels craft store, also in Gaithersburg.

Police examined surveillance video and saw the suspect purchase groceries using his store bonus card.

In the doorway, the man can be seen squirting fluid from a bottle and taking a picture, police said.

Edwards was identified through his bonus card and the surveillance video.

Forensic tests confirmed the substance as semen.

DNA tests are pending.

Police said they are looking for at least two more victims.

Anyone who noticed a liquid on their clothes but wrote it off as benign is urged to call 301-258-6400.

Edwards is free on bond.

Well, he's obviously mentally ill to some degree. No one with any sanity would do something like that. First of all, even conceiving of it is evidence of a deep sickness but then to actually DO it and to do publicly where it was fairly obvious he'd be caught...that's a person who's going the wrong way down a one-way street psychologically.

I'd say he's dangerous and I hope he is incarcerated for quite a while.

Either he has some sort of developmental disabilities or he is one of those people who likes to do "sick things" to get reactions from strangers.

It's like people who like to expose themselves in public just for the reaction they get, only this guy's "habit" is way worse...

As sick as it sounds, it really isn't that uncommon. I've heard of people before who threw piss and sh*t at people; some just have a thing for bodily fluids.

It's just that most people don't usually go as far as actually doing it (throwing it at people).

Some peoples' fantasies are in their head for so long that it becomes like a compulsion and they act out this way.

They usually are those who, for whatever reason, don't have a safe outlet or the means of exploring them.

...and some real twisted folk just do it for the kicks.

I agree 100% on that. Whether he's in his right mind or not - for everyone's sake and safety, he needs to be registered as a sex offender.

I know what you mean. I used to have an extreme female foot
fetish but eventually I was able to control it.

He could very well be, as some jurisdictions have it as a sex crime "to propel a dangerous body substance at another person". The law usually means semen, blood, urine, and feces.

I don't think it counts saliva.
