I thought there was something with this channel that it always had to use "Family" in the branding (in addition to airing The 700 Club)?

Full House leading into That 70s Show is hilarious, they're nothing alike. Was hoping Boy Meets World would get a better slot, oh well. Too much AFV, that show will never die.

It looks like Greek is October (or late fall). It is not on the September schedule. 50/50 chance Huge is renewed. PLL, Secret Life and Make It all will return for their second halves in January, so maybe Huge will be ordered for more with them.

Yes Still Standing is back.

Pavan I have a question Lifetime aired Still Standing up until last fall and then it dissapeared did they lose the rights or did they just stop airing it?

12:00A Whose Line is It Anyway
I like their Fall schedule and think it is better than what they currently have.

However, this is what I would have done:
7:00A Full House
7:30A Full House
8:00A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
8:30A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
9:00A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
9:30A 700 Club Interactive
10:00A The 700 Club
11:00A America's Funniest Home Videos
12:00N Boy Meets World
12:30P Boy Meets World
1:00P Still Standing
1:30P Still Standing
2:00P My Wife & Kids
2:30P My Wife & Kids
3:00P What I Like About You
3:30P What I Like About You
4:00P That '70s Show
4:30P That '70s Show
5:00P That '70s Show
5:30P That '70s Show
6:00P Gilmore Girls
7:00P Friday Night Lights

I think that Full House in between My Wife & Kids and That '70s Show is a terrible fit. They easily could have kept Full House at 12 even and then put Still Standing at 2. That would have made much more sense.

I think What I Like About You needs 2 episodes, though. Something older needs to take that one episode slot.

The fact that they air 2 episodes of Gilmore Girls bothers me still but at least they got rid of that extra hour of Full House finally *I'm a Full House fan, but even I think that it was getting to be a bit much.

I have to say they're really risking their 6PM timeslot with Friday Night Lights. It is smart of them to air it 9pm after Secret Life's finale, though!

Don't like the rumors of it re-branding to ABCF. That's one letter too many. Why not just call it Alphabet or ABCDEFG lol.

Although I don't mind the Still Standing acquistion, I find it strange for ABC Family to air it - it is, afterall, a CBS show!

Really looking forward to Pretty Little Liars finale next week! It's a very intriguing show. Too bad we have to wait until January but I expected that because they treated Secret Life in the same way.

Their acquisition of Fresh Prince was quite a waste though. It aired latenight Saturday for a couple years and weeknights for like a week and that was that.

They lost it last fall. I mentioned that in the blog story.

DSfan, that is a good schedule, but I think they want to keep Boy Meets World there for the teens who watch it before they go to school in the mornings (plus TeenNick airs Full House in the mornings). I would do something like this:

7:00A Boy Meets World
7:30A Boy Meets World
8:00A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
8:30A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
9:00A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
9:30A 700 Club Interactive
10:00A The 700 Club
11:00A Full House
11:30A Full House
12:00P What I Like About You
12:30P What I Like About You
1:00P Still Standing
1:30P Still Standing
2:00P My Wife & Kids
2:30P My Wife & Kids
3:00P Full House
3:30P Boy Meets World
4:00P 8 Simple Rules
4:30P That '70s Show
5:00P That '70s Show
5:30P That '70s Show
6:00P Gilmore Girls
7:00P Friday Night Lights
8:00P Primetime
10:00P Gilmore Girls (instead of AFV)
11:00P The 700 Club
12:00A Whose Line...

3-5PM can be a named block, something like the Disney Afternoon for sitcoms. I think it would do well, if promoted. The rest of the schedule can have the back-to-back episodes in the hour.

Why can't they get rid of the 700 Club? it doesn't fit with any of their other programming models. I see why they would want to rebrand, but i feel like it's probrally not smart to do because people already associate it as ABC Family

They can't. When Pat Robertson sold CBN, it was put in the contract that whoever owns the channel must air The 700 Club.

Terrible schedule. Full House should stay at 3pm, where it has been forever, and That 70's Show should not be airing from 3-5pm. I love ABC Family's current schedule, but I hate this one.

Yeah, I realized that about Teenick but I was sort of being more open-minded with my schedule because I'm assuming Teenick's schedule will most likely be altered for the Fall. Could you do the blog post for it asap?

With ABC Family, what bothers me is that 9AM half-hour because you either have to air 3 episodes of something from 8-930AM or screw over one show but giving it one airing at 9AM before 700 Club. What craziness how that was in the contract so they have to air it forever? Do they make new episodes even? Maybe TBS has a similar clause with Saved by the Bell or something...

You put 8 Simple Rules in your mock schedule, do they still have its rights? If so, how dumb are they to not air it when its not on any other network! Ugh.

I think we both agree on AFV being a detriment to their lineup as well.

I like your schedule as well pav but sorry to say, but I think your 3-5 block is a bit too choppy. I wouldn't want to air one episode of BMW and Full House after they both got 2 in the morning. They like to repeat their later block from day 1 as their earlier block in day 2 and this would cause confusion, I find, with only one airing later. Then, they'd be getting into having two different runs going of the same show which I never like.

Okay, here is a realistic schedule that is close enough to what they are doing but is better:

7:00A Boy Meets World
7:30A Boy Meets World
8:00A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
8:30A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
9:00A Sabrina, the Teenage Witch
9:30A 700 Club Interactive
10:00A The 700 Club
11:00A Gilmore Girls
12:00P Full House
12:30P Full House
1:00P My Wife & Kids
1:30P My Wife & Kids
2:00P Still Standing
2:30P Still Standing
3:00P What I Like About You
3:30P What I Like About You
4:00P That '70s Show
4:30P That '70s Show
5:00P That '70s Show
5:30P That '70s Show
6:00P Gilmore Girls
7:00P Friday Night Lights

Extra Sabrina, 2 eps. of WILAY (in effect, replacing AFV), and Full House stays in its current 12-1 slot and Still Standing can shift to the 2-3 slot that they are planning to put Full House in.

I think Friday Night Lights at 7 works MUCH more than at 6. Even now, they sometimes have a past episode of Pretty Little Liars or Secret Life before the new episode so the viewers are used to seeing dramas in that timeslot.

If it was a more accomplished show I wouldn't be as worried but it isn't, so I am lol

Oh, I meant to ask also, Pavan, is Step by Step going to be on cable again next fall? Pleaseeeeee say yes. Same for Growing Pains and Wonder Years, too (major pipe dream though).

I have seen ratings and Full House is needed later than just 12pm. It does well for them, so they will schedule more than 2 episodes of it.

Double episodes in an hour is good, but they need a bit of variety and I think strong performing shows for them would work from 3-5pm (all of those in that block have done well for them in the past). And if it bombs...quick fix, Full House 3-4pm and That '70s Show 4-5pm replacing BMW and 8SR.

What I Like About You never did that good in late afternoon. And yes, they do have 8 Simple Rules. It airs from time to time on weekend mornings as filler, but they have gone through each episode a ton already.

No word on Step by Step. If and when it gets picked-up anywhere, it will be posted.
