Caddyshack Actor Dan Resin (Dr. Beeper) Dies at 79 - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Thesp Dan Resin, who appeared in "Caddyshack" as Dr. Beeper, died July 30 in Secaucus, N.J. He was 79.
Resin was featured in a number of films and TV series and had a long stint in commercials as the Ty-D-Bol toilet cleaning man. Besides "Caddyshack" he appeared in "The Sunshine Boys," "The Man With One Red Shoe" and "Wise Guys," among other pics. In TV he had a recurring role on CBS' "On Our Own" in the 1970s.

Resin graduated from Indiana U. with a degree in music and theater. He served a stint in the army at Fort Monmouth. N.J.

He worked in several Off Broadway and Broadway shows in the '60s, including "Once Upon a Mattress," tuners "The Young Abe Lincoln," "Fade Out, Fade In," "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever" and "Don't Drink the Water."

He later became a Eucharistic minister at the Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margaret; three daughters; three grandsons and two grandaughters; a brother and two sisters.
