20th Century Fox won't be auditioning actors for the role of 'The Thing' for their upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot, instead they'll be meeting with computer engineers.

Screen Rant reports that the mandarin-coloured superhero, played by actor Michael Chiklis in the two previous "Fantastic Four" movies (and Michael Bailey Smith in the ill-fated Roger Corman version), will be '100% CGI" next time around.

Now you'd think this might cheese off fans of "Fantastic Four", not so - they too seem to agree that The Thing should be a computer-generated character. As Screen Rant points out, "Thing is supposed to be a big, hulking, rock monster type creature who is able to lift hundreds, if not thousands, of tons and dwarf everyone on his team in size. This just can’t be pulled off in a practical suit."

"Fantastic Four Reborn" (that's what they're apparently calling it) will likely shoot sometime next year (after the studio wraps the new "X-Men" film).

I agree with that, the Thing should be CGI it would work better imo.
