Crazy LeBron's Heat jersey gets fan booted from Indians game

http://news.yahoo.com/s//newsnet5/20...ewsnet5_ts3289

Cleveland fans have not been quick to forgive LeBron James for the way he left his hometown team for the Miami Heat, and Wednesday night’s Indians game is the most recent example of the city’s disdain for its former “King.”

A fan wore James' new Miami Heat jersey to the Indians and New York Yankees game, and he had to be escorted out of Progressive Field by security.

While Matthew Bellamy was booed a little, he said things heated up when he ended up on the balllpark's Jumbotron.

"I had three glasses of beer thrown at me, which ruined one of my jerseys, peanuts were flying, pieces, parts of food were flying. We weren't able to get to our seats cause they wouldn't let us sit down," Bellamy said. "I understand it's a little fresh still. But he was born and raised in Ohio. You can't turn your back on him that quick. At least I can't."

Video caught Bellamy taunting Cleveland fans with the jersey as he made his way to the left-field bleachers, which then resulted in boos and vulgar chants from the Indians fans. The same video shows Bellamy's girlfriend was also taunting the crowd, and she was seen giving fans an obscene finger gesture as they were escorted out of the bleachers.

Hundreds of fans were booing, shouting and snapping pictures before security led him out of the stadium. A number of fans also followed him out to the gate, chanting the entire time.

"The cop called me a few names that I really don't appreciate... He just called me an a-hole a few times so I really don't appreciate that," Bellamy said.

What did this guy expect? That the other fans in the ballpark would shower him with roses and kiss his feet? Talk about living in the state of delusion!!

Well I agree that this fellow made an error in judgement in wearing that jersey to an Indians game it doesn't justify the actions of the other people at the ballpark. They are angry at Lebron (and justifiably so!) but I don't think it was right for them to direct that anger at this poor fellow.

Wearing a Bengals jersey in Cleveland would have been a safer alternative.

Wearing a Baltimore Ravens "Super Bowl Champions" shirt or anything with The Pittsburgh Steelers in Cleveland won't get you booed.

He WAS flaunting the jersey and egging them on, from some of the footage that they showed on the news tonight. What a doofus!!!

He did it for attention.

He knew this was going to happen and wanted it to happen and encouraged it to happen. He wanted his 15 minutes of fame, to be on the news and Youtube and such.

True!! He's just lucky he didn't try that at Browns Stadium - I can imagine what the crazy folks in the Dawg Pound would've done to him.

He deserves a large swath of the blame for essentially being a real life troll and clearly trying to bait Cleveland fans into a reaction.

Fans at the game are culpable too - they allowed themselves to get baited by this clown and degenerate to their more base reactions.

I have to agree with Seth here on both sides - the guy was asking for the bad reactions, but the crowd didn't have the right to dump beer and stuff on him. I did have to laugh when he ended up on the Jumbotron and the entire crowd (and not just his section) booed and taunted him mercilessly.

At least he wasn't in Browns Stadium where the fans have been known to throw beer bottles and other debris on the field at the refs - I hate to think what the crazy folks in the Dawg Pound would've done to this guy.

The comments from the local news website from viewers make for some very entertaining reading.

As much as they were talking about it on the radio I was surprised ESPN showed no footage of it

That was probably the guy's ultimate goal, to get himself on ESPN.
