With The Same Theme Music What Would You Change The Lyrics To? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

If you were to change the lyrics to the Gimme A Break theme song but keep the music the same what would the lyrics be?

Here is mine- This is theme is a few episodes prior to Joey's arrival

My name is Nell
I don't take no hell
I'm doin my best everyday
I'm ready to do my job

I live with the chief
and his lovely kids
and everyday has it's ups and downs

woo ho ho

My name is Nell
Yeah yeah
My name is Nell
Yeah Yeah
My name is Nell
Yeah Yeah
I'm takin care of everything
My name is Nell!

I think the line "I'm putting a new face on the old one ready for anything" could haved changed if they ever changed the lyrics, or added more to the theme, by repeating it once again or two more times, as if it were a full song on the radio.

The rest of the theme didn't have to be changed, but that line seemed like if they wanted to change it over the years, they could have with that same beat to fit that part of the song, and they'd still have the same theme, just with a changed line.

I think after the Chief died, they should have changed that line in season 5-6 to something else, because it would show how she was now mother and father to the girls. She already lost weight by the time season 3 started and season 4 she stayed the same halfway through it. However, season 5-6, that line was old because it had been 2 years since then.

Gimme A Break
Now I know what it takes
I'm raising my kids, here, by myself, now, taking it day by day

I think they should have changed that line to something like that for seasoons 5-6 because that's the direction the show went those years.

They also should have mentioned New York during season 6 theme to show more of a direction change also.

During the time Joey became a cast memeber the theme could have mentioned her taking in Joey and then later it could have included Matthew and lets not forget Nell's mother became a part of the cast in season 6 atleast a part that was in the opening credits.
